January 31, 2011: My friend is interested in this guy I used to know when I was younger, and back then he was a shitty guy who did drugs and drank all the time, but now he goes to church and quit drugs and drinks sparingly and in general has "turned over a new leaf." I don't know if I trust him though...HELP??
First of all, was he a crappy guy because he did drugs and drank? Or was he just a douche in general? It can be hard to forget about the past when that can be what shapes a person, but keep in mind that people can change. Also, the "bad decisions" phase could have been just that: a phase. Human experience shows us how resilient we can be, and she will rebound if all goes to hell. Well, let your friend do the deciding. Because you're not dating him. It's her choice in the end.
January 31, 2011: There's this guy who I went out with once, and I really liked talking to him although I wasn't attracted to him. He spent over $100 on dinner. Was I wrong to accept the date? Now he keeps texting me and I don't know what to say.

JUST KIDDING! No, you weren't wrong. The best thing to say is, "Listen, I enjoyed that dinner. But you a dud." Kidding again (or not..?). There's no problem with saying gently that you had a good time, but you're not interested, and you'd rather be friends! It's better to be honest than to pretend you're into something you're not or leading this rich dude on. Also, how were you supposed to know that he was going to buy you an extremely expensive dinner?

So it's 30/30 month, and I have a question. I really like to party, but I also really like good grades. Which is more important, the present or the future?
